Macau Hits Nearly $7 Billion in Gambling Revenue
05, February 2007
Macau has been the focus of a lot of powerful organizations in recent years, including fictional ones like the broadcast company that owns Studio Sixty on the hit NBC show, "Studio Sixty on the Sunset Strip". What isn't fictional, however, is that the Chinese territory nearly hit $7 billion in gambling revenue last year, according to recent figures, which could put it in the running for dethroning Las Vegas as the gambling capital of the world. The former Portuguese colony has seen an influx of American businesses since the government broke up a casino monopoly three years ago.
