Proposed Changes in Irish Gambling Law

Currently if you are in the United Kingdom on Sunday and have the urge to place a bet or play bingo in a parlor, there is no problem finding a spot to do so - unless you are in Northern Ireland. This is the only place in the UK were gambling parlors must close on Sunday, but that might change by 2008. The UK government has recently announced that bookmakers will be allowed to be open between 10.30 GMT and 18.30 GMT, and bingo parlors to be open between 14.00 GMT and 23.00 GMT, unless interested parties respond and the law does not go through. The public has 14 weeks to make their opinion known.
