Another Casino Approved in Michigan
19, August 2006
The plan appears to be that six months after Motor City Casino and MGM Grand Detroit Casino have opened their permanent facilities, Greektown Casino's permanent facilities will also be open to the public. On August 8th the Michigan Gaming Control Board voted and unanimously approved the final steps required for Greektown Casino's permanent hotel and entertainment complex to begin construction. The 400-room hotel and 3100 space parking garage, along with a walkway connecting the two buildings and passing over Lafayette Blvd., can begin right away. September 2008 is the target date to which the casino officials are hoping that the Greektown Casino will be open to the public, giving Michigan residents three casino complexes with over 100,000 square feet of entertainment and gaming space.
