Casino Royale Singer Chosen
30, July 2006
For the first time since singing group A-ha did it in 1987, a male singer will write and preform the title track for the next Bond movie. The movie, Casino Royale, is noteworthy for other reasons as well, such as the fact that the new Bond is a blond actor being met with some skepticism. The movie will boast a song by Chris Cornell, the lead singer for band Audioslave and the former front man for band Soundgarden. Cornell, who has seen clips of the movie and responds favorably, has written and performed movie tracks before.
Before A-ha in '87 the other male singer for a Bond song was Paul McCartney and Wings singing Live and Let Die.
