Casino Fire Kills Two
03, July 2006
When a fire broke out in a container behind the Coeur d'Alene Tribal Bingo Casino two men were inside. The badly burned bodies of what are believed to be casino employees Donald S. Hanson, 56, of Fairfield, WA, and Richard E. Stokes, 49, of Rockfort, WA, were found inside, but will require dental record ID to be sure of the identities. A pickup truck used by the men and owned by the casino was nearby and was destroyed in the fire. Casino operations continued with its 700 employees during the fire and investigation, and while fireworks are on the premises it is unsure if they were the cause of the fire. Arson has been ruled out as a likely cause of the deadly fire.
